Criteria for Prioritization

(ranked by Priority, 1 being highest priority)

The analysis of sidewalk need is illustrated below. It includes the following considerations:

  • Any street in an urban LUTA
  • How well the immediate areas is served by existing sidewalks
  1. Responsive Populations – Area of low or moderate income households and proximity to existing transit system.
  2. Connectivity to Schools and Parks – Prioritize opportunities to connect the existing sidewalk network to schools and parks.
  3. Connectivity to Existing Networks – Prioritize locations that join existing networks.
  4. Neighborhood Revitalization – Neighborhoods that are identified for revitalization.
  5. Urban Commercial Districts – Established or emerging Urban Commercial districts that need pedestrian connectivity.
